Call for proposals for funding
The Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak in North Kivu and Ituri provinces, Democratic Republic of the Congo, continues to be challenging as ongoing security incidents and pockets of community mistrust hamper response efforts. From the beginning of the outbreak to date, a total of 925 EVD cases and 584 deaths were reported. Of these 57% were females, and 30% were children. 69 health workers have been infected, with 21 deaths. Ireland has already allocated over €1.6m to the response so far.
Irish Aid proposes to allocate an additional €1m towards NGO partners who may be best placed to respond to this crisis in the DRC. Irish humanitarian NGOs are invited to submit applications which outline plans for immediate response activities by COB 12 April 2019.
Please note: the deadline has now passed.
